Electronic Waste Collection

Vermont has a grand tradition of an annual statewide “Green-Up Day”, typically on the first Saturday of May.  Teams and individuals spread across Charlotte to clean up streets and neighborhoods, and a whole crew of town volunteers help to collect the trash and recyclables that are gathered in the clean-up process.

Each year, Sustainable Charlotte organizes a collection of E-Waste which coincides with Green-Up Day and gives the community an opportunity to properly dispose of electronic waste which might otherwise end up in a landfill.  We partner with a local organization that repairs items if possible, and gets them back into use.  Items that can’t be repaired are properly, safely, and ethically recycled or properly disposed of.

Our community benefits from having a known drop-off spot for electronic waste, and our environment benefits because that waste stays out of the landfill.

You can help!  Volunteer for a short shift with us on Green-Up Day, helping us at the collection bins – you’ll enjoy the camaraderie and the satisfaction of helping your community.  Contact us to find out more or to sign up for the next event!
